July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about the unique mental health challenges faced by racial and ethnic minority communities. At Partnership Carson City, we’re committed to creating spaces where everyone, regardless of background, can feel seen, heard and supported in their mental health journey.
Why This Matters
Mental health affects everyone, but systemic barriers, cultural stigma and lack of access to resources often make it harder for minority communities to receive the care they need. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Black, Latino, Asian American, Native American and other underserved populations are less likely to receive mental health services, despite often facing higher risks due to social and economic disparities.
