The 13th annual “Walk in Memory – Walk for Hope” suicide prevention awareness walk will occur Sept. 14 in the Bob McFadden Plaza, with registration starting at 9 a.m.
Walk participants are asked to donate $20 per individual. All donations are used to help fund National Coalition for Suicide Prevention programs statewide.
“Suicide isn’t something we necessarily talk about, but once we see the entire community come together for the same cause, it shows that suicide affects everyone,” said Partnership Carson City’s Samantha Szoyka. “Suicide is a ripple effect — and to bring awareness to community members that there are resources and people out there who care, well, it’s a really powerful thing to witness.”
Pre-registration details are available at http://bit.ly/ncspwalk2019. Participants can also be part of a team. Each participant must complete a registration form.
The “Walk in Memory – Walk for Hope” will occur in 10 different communities across Nevada that day.
