Drug Round-up
April 30, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
We’re raising awareness around the impacts of keeping unused and expired prescription drugs in your household by offering their annual Drug Round-up Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Drug Round-up is at four locations in Carson City:
- Save Mart Supermarkets, located at 3620 N. Carson and 4348 S. Carson streets
- Smith’s Food & Drug Store at 559 E. William St.
- FoodMaxx at 3325 Highway 50 East
Bring your unused or expired prescription drugs and sharps (syringes) in a sealed plastic bag or tin container.
This event is designed to protect vulnerable populations in the community through education about proper disposal of unused or expired prescription drugs, over-the-counter products, prescription liquids, pet medications, sharps (syringes) and more. The effort is part of the federal drug round-up initiative.
At-home drug disposal kits are also available. The kits provide an option for proper disposal at home and are safe for trash disposal. In addition, medicine lockboxes are available as well as medical and commercial cannabis lock bags — both offered free of charge.
