Journey of Hope: Friendship Visit to Carson City
June 16, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Meet the team that rides an average of 75 miles a day, and supports people with disabilities. In 1987, one man’s dream of riding his bike across the country would create the largest fraternal awareness event of its kind, a Journey of Hope. Journey of Hope is a cross-country bicycle trek beginning in San Francisco (North), Los Angeles (South), and Seattle (Transamerica) and ending with all teams together in Washington D.C. Cyclists cover 32 states, over 12,000 miles combined. It is composed solely of members of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, who bring to the forefront the abilities of people with disabilities. From the inaugural team of 21 members raising $20,o00, Pi Kappa Phis annually raise more than $500,000.
