Growing up in Hawaii was an experience that I will never forget. Everyone was always kind and generous and that taught me a big lesson: treat others as you’d like to be treated — the Golden Rule. While there, I played football and rode my bike everywhere, enjoying the weather and nearby beaches. It was paradise, that’s for sure. Moving from Hawaii to the mainland was challenging but it was about my next journey. I found a new home that brought me to more kind and generous people. I’ve met lifelong friends who are like family, not to mention my team at work who are the best at what they do. I feel like I’ve come home. I’m still in high school, a senior at Carson High with plans to attend the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. My career goal is to work in human resources as a psychologist.
