Latina Educator Assistant
I came to the U.S. from Mexico when I was 14-years-old and didn’t know any English. But I told myself, I have to learn the language. I started simply by reading signs wherever I went. I also found people and volunteer teachers who helped me along the way. Being bilingual has given me the skills needed to find my place at PCC. Over the last two years, I’ve helped a number of people looking for help. I also work with children, preparing them for kindergarten. It’s something I didn’t imagine, but now know it was my destiny. When I’m not working I love dancing and singing. I also explore our community and hike — and love seeing our waterfalls.
